Unlike the UK, the legal system in Spain is different, more bureaucratic and there’s the minor issue for many of a language barrier. Added to this, it might be that an agent or a developer will try and convince you that they already have a lawyer ready and waiting to help you. Buying property is one of life’s big decisions, and you really need an independent lawyer who is in your corner, and no one elses.
