From 04:00 on Friday 11 February 2022, fully vaccinated passengers returning to England and Scotland from overseas will no longer need to arrange and take any Covid travel tests if they are fully vaccinated.

The need to complete a passenger locator form remains. The form can now be completed three days ahead of a UK return rather than two. It is expected that the form will also be simplified, but not time scale is given for that change.

At the time of writing Wales and Northern Ireland have not confirmed if they will change their testing rules, but the expectation is that they will.

The timing of the announcement coincides with the half-term holiday in the UK. This will means that families with relatives in Spain can travel with the confidence to get together if they wish, without the cost and hassle of arranging tests. The development also provides a much needed boost to the aviation sector.
